SL65 AMG Black Series
Description:

Mercedes produced only 350 examples worldwide and only 175 were allocated to the USA.

The SL65 AMG Black Series is powered by a hand built 6.0L 12 cylinder twin-turbo engine paired to a 5-speed AMG Speedshift automatic transmission. The AMG Speedshift transmission include “C”, “S”, “M1” and “M2” which has gearshift times 25 percent quicker than the “M1” mode.

The engine produces an incredible 661 brake horsepower and a massive 738 foot-pounds of torque. With an estimated 0–62 mph time of 3.8 seconds and a top speed electronically limited to 199 mph, this car was the most powerful Mercedes ever produced at the time.

All body panels except the doors are made from carbon fiber reinforced plastic. The hardtop fixed roof is also made from carbon fiber. The carbon fiber fenders are 4.5 inches wider in the front and 4.1 inches wider in the rear than a standard SL65. The carbon fiber rear wing can be deployed manually or it can be raised automatically at highway speeds. The car comes equipped with AMG 6-piston front brakes and 4-piston rear brakes. Front AMG wheels are 19×9.5” light-alloys and the rear are 20×11.5” light-alloys.
